| Kids Vote, Too officially began in Okaloosa County in 1998. This program evolved from Supervisor of Elections Pat Hollarn’s desire, as a former teacher, to include students in her voter education program. Kids Vote, Too is dedicated to building and reinforcing a life-long interest and habit in voting. With that in mind, Kids Vote, Too provides mock internet elections in all Okaloosa County Public Schools during Presidential and Gubernatorial election years.
Internet voting, along with a variety of other activities are coordinated by each school's Kids Vote, Too Coordinator. For a list of this year's Coordinators, click here (PDF) .
Here's What Students, Teachers and Parents Are Saying About Kids Vote, Too!
During last years elections held at Crestview High School I was filled with a great feeling of pride. Finally I had a helping hand in out great nation. It was a great experience because people are always saying something like you’re too young to vote so you don’t matter, but we got to participate in the single most prideful events that defines this country.

Student, Crestview High School
When I was voting it made me feel like I had a say-so about who is the leader of our nation. It made me feel like I could make a difference. Also, that I have power. I think it is a great experience for everyone to have.
Chelsea Rae Gardner
Student, Crestview High School
I feel Kids Vote, Too is a valuable learning experience. Students learn through the election process about citizenship in the United States. They experience the importance of making an informed decision about candidates, and they also get to vote which is an awesome experience. Students at our school studied the candidates, the political parties and even acted as poll workers to guide their peers through the voting process. Thank you for continuing this valuable program for the students of Okaloosa County.
